Dhurandhar 2: Ranveer Singh film crosses Rs 135 crore in advance booking ahead of release
Ranveer Singh's much-awaited action thriller Dhurandhar: The Revenge has done something rare — it has become a box office story even before releasing. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film officially opens in cinemas on March 19, with paid preview shows a day earlier on March 18. But the numbers coming in from advance bookings have already set the trade buzzing.Tickets went on sale on March 7, and in just ten days, the film has crossed a staggering Rs 135 crore in total pre-sales — including block seats, domestic bookings, and overseas figures.Preview Shows Pull in Over Rs 40 CroreThe paid preview shows scheduled for March 18 have alone generated Rs 40.54 crore in advance ticket sales, according to tracking portal Sacnilk. That figure, by itself, would be a healthy opening day for most Bollywood releases. For Dhurandhar 2, it is just the warm-up act.Opening Day Bookings Cross Rs 29 CroreFor March 19 — the official Day 1 — over 4.70 lakh tickets have already been sold across more than 15,000 shows pan-India. The advance collection for the opening day alone stands at Rs 29.02 crore.By the afternoon of March 17, updated figures from Sacnilk put the Day 1 tally even higher at Rs 30.75 crore with block seats included. Stripped of block bookings, the number still holds firm at Rs 22.39 crore — and is expected to climb further before showtime.Global Audience Shows Up TooThe film is not just a domestic story. Overseas advance sales for the opening weekend have touched approximately Rs 60–65 crore, reflecting strong interest from Indian diaspora markets and international audiences alike.Put it all together — preview shows, Day 1 bookings, and overseas pre-sales — and the opening window total already sits north of Rs 135 crore.Theatres Running Shows at 1 AM and BeyondTo meet the overwhelming demand, multiplex chains have started adding shows at unconventional hours. In Mumbai and Thane, screens at PVR Chakala and Movie Max Sion are scheduled to run from as early as 1:50 AM, continuing through to 11:30 PM with multiple slots in between.Similar late-night and post-midnight shows have been reported in Ahmedabad at Conplex Cinema, and in several theatres across western and southern India. Dhurandhar: The Revenge has effectively become one of the rare Bollywood films to run round-the-clock screenings in multiple cities simultaneously. Logistics and local safety guidelines have limited this model to select locations for now, though more venues are expected to follow.Hindi Leads, But Regional Versions Chip InThe Hindi version is driving the bulk of bookings by a clear margin. However, the film's dubbed versions in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada are contributing to the overall numbers. These versions are, notably, running against stiff competition from Pawan Kalyan's Ustad Bhagat Singh in southern markets — yet still holding their ground. What the Film Is AboutDhurandhar: The Revenge picks up where the first film left off. A spy action thriller at its core, it follows a high-stakes undercover operative navigating new threats and complex missions. The film brings back the tension and scale that made the original a box office success. The cast includes Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Gaurav Gera and Danish Pandor.
